Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy signed a collaboration agreement with the Medical Tourism Association of Moldova (MTAM) to promote the University at the international level. The agreement was signed by Rector Emil Ceban and Natalia Ciobanu, president of the Association, for a term of up to 5 years.
In the framework of this agreement, MTAM undertook to promote Nicolae Testemitanu University globally, through conferences and international events, during which it will present the study programs, infrastructure, and resources of the University, identify, and establish partnerships with other prestigious universities from around the world, will promote academic and research mobility, use online platforms and social networks to attract international students and medical professionals.
Rector Emil Ceban noted the importance of the certification of this agreement for expanding the geographical area of foreign students’ recruitment, for the implementation of projects and hubs in the field of medicine, the approach to the concept of medicine through technological innovation, as well as for the refresher training of doctors and pharmacists at the international level. This agreement is a promising one with direct benefits for both parties. We will create excellence hubs in the medical field, where students and medical professionals can collaborate and develop innovative projects. We will develop mentoring and coaching programs for healthcare professionals to support professional development and skill cultivation in various professional areas. We will organize courses, workshops, and international conferences for the refresher training of doctors from Moldova and other countries in various medical specializations, the rector emphasized.
Besides the fact that we are committed to promoting Nicolae Testemitanu University internationally, we also aim to attract investments and sponsors who would be willing to build a university hospital. The emphasis must be placed on research and innovation", underlined Natalia Ciobanu, president of the Medical Tourism Association of Moldova.
The first action under this memorandum of cooperation will take place on April 18, 2024, at the Global Medical Tourism Forum, which will be held in Northern Cyprus, representatives from 56 countries of the world being invited. MTAM will represent our country, promote medical tourism to Moldova, including Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
